Alex Katko
Vice President of Product Engineering
Alex Katko serves as Vice President of Product Engineering at Globalstar, leading the teams responsible for the design, development, manufacturing, and support of Globalstar's satellite product portfolio. This includes module and component products for integrators and VARs, SPOT-brand consumer messaging and tracking devices, and industrial IoT asset trackers. Prior to joining Globalstar in 2024, Katko co-founded Pivotal Commware and built the engineering organization from its inception. Under his leadership, the team delivered 4G and 5G wireless products to leading mobile network operators. Earlier, he was a Metamaterials Specialist at Intellectual Ventures, where his work on next-generation antenna technology laid the technical foundation for Pivotal Commware. Katko holds a Ph.D. and M.S. in Electrical and Computer Engineering from Duke University and a B.S. in Electrical and Computer Engineering from The Ohio State University. He holds over 20 U.S. patents and has authored 15 publications. He was recognized as a Fierce Wireless Rising Star in 2021.
